To promote the destination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) took part in the Riyadh Travel Fair (RTF). The expo, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from May 22–24, 2023, featured 26 participants from 15 firms in addition to MMPRC.
RTF 2023 is regarded as an important yearly event that brings together leading travel and tourism companies, as well as exhibitors representing tourist promotion authorities and tourism companies on the Arab and worldwide levels. RTF is a market for the introduction of tourism products, services, and investments offered by the world’s largest tour operators.
MMPRC’s vibrant and colorful stand featured a variety of unique experiences, such as a special raffle giveaway with a consumer quiz, cultural experiences such as a Dhivehi Calligraphy Corner, and Maldivian delicacies like addu bondi, kulhi kaajaa, and theluli bambukeyo.
The show provided an excellent chance for industry partners of MMPRC to meet with the Middle Eastern tourism trade and create new business relationships. Participation in the Riyadh Travel Fair was part of MMPRC’s marketing strategy for the Middle Eastern market, which included activities to boost reach, bookings, and arrivals from the region.
Saudi Arabia ranks as the top 19th market to the Maldives, and as of April 30, 2023, 23,453 tourists from the Middle Eastern region had visited.
