Across 22 global markets, MMPRC carried out over 260 different activities to market the Maldives as the leading tourist destination over the last year, one such campaign was concluded recently to establish a hold over the Turkish market. Initiating in February, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) along with the national flag carrier airline of Türkiye, Turkish Airlines carried out a unique 3 campaign stretching over 3 months to amp up the presence of the Maldives in the Turkish market.
The campaign used modern-day tactics like playing a 30-second long video before any in-house flight movie to spread awareness about the breathtaking scenery and one-of-a-kind tourism products and services. The video highlighted the one-island-one-resort concept which separates the Maldives from the rest. Estimating the views at a count of 11.2 million, the video was played on 44,800 Turkish Airlines flights with a dedicated video slot that reserved exclusive rights.
Turkish Airlines with its international routes carrying passengers all the way from central Europe to the Middle East and holding the honor of being the National flag carrier of Turkey proved to be helpful in providing significant exposure and visibility for the Maldives brand across the globe. MMPRC further announced that more such joint campaigns for the Turkish market are already in the works.
