MMPRC Launches Global ‘Discover Maldives’ Webinar Series to Engage Travel Professionals Worldwide

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), known as Visit Maldives, has launched the “Discover Maldives” global webinar series to strengthen the destination’s appeal and engage with travel trade professionals worldwide. The series aims to provide detailed insights into the Maldives’ diverse tourism offerings, starting with a webinar focused on the French travel market.

The “Discover Maldives” series will include multiple sessions, each designed for 60-80 travel professionals and media in key markets. These webinars, conducted in local languages, will help travel agents and tour operators better understand the unique experiences and attractions the Maldives offers.

The first session, held on August 21, 2024, highlighted the Maldives as a top destination for French-speaking visitors. Presentations were given by industry leaders such as Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, showcasing their exclusive services and products.

MMPRC aims to maintain and increase tourist arrivals from key markets through this initiative, ensuring that the Maldives remains a leading destination for global travelers. The webinar series will also introduce the Maldives to new and emerging markets, emphasizing the wide range of tourism experiences available.

In 2024, the Maldives has already seen substantial growth in tourist arrivals from markets including China, Russia, the UK, Italy, Germany, India, the US, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The “Discover Maldives” webinars are set to further enhance the Maldives’ visibility and attract more visitors from these and other regions.
