Record number of tourists in Maldives in November 2020

In November 2020, Maldives welcomed more than 35000 tourists. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the number of tourists from October to November increased by 66%. Due to the reopening of the border on 15th July, the tourism industry of this country has started restoring its status.

The statistical figures recorded by the department show that there were 21,515 tourists arrived in October. The average number of tourists’ daily arrivals is around 1,192, and the highest number of arrivals in a day is 2,299.

Of all the tourists to the Maldives, 8,851 were from Russia. However, the number of Indian tourists to the island is close to that of Russians. While there are 7,610 arrivals from India, 2,093 tourists are from England. There are more than 16 airlines to operate flights and tourists to the Maldives. Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways are the most popular ones of them.
