The Maldives Strengthen Relations With the North American Market

As 2022 marks the Golden Jubilee year of the tourism industry of the Maldives, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) has carried out over 260 different marketing activities to showcase the Maldives as the leading world destination. On the 15th of September MMPRC concluded the ‘Maldives Roadshow in USA and Canada’. The roadshows were conducted in Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto on the 12th, 14th, and 15th of September.

The North American markets remain one of the top source markets for the Maldives, these roadshows were strategically conducted to further strengthen the hold over the market and improve US-Canada travel trade relations. A total of 11 industry partners along with industry professionals representing all the top-end resorts participated in the roadshow.

The roadshow was kickstarted with an introduction of all the industry partners followed by a destination presentation, the presentation showcased all the unique experiences offered by the coral haven and also the latest travel guidelines as the world enters a post-pandemic stage. The afternoon was set aside, especially for inter-industry networking for industry partners and the North American travel trade community. The night was concluded with a lavish dinner. With over 52,168 tourists welcomed from the US, the US stands at 6th place in the list of top market source, despite the long distance.
